Susan Cingari interviewing singer Donna Summer for the news magazine and entertainment show “Entertainment Tonight”.   In this interview, Donna spoke about being the “Queen of Disco” and about her appearance in the show “American Idol” where judge Paula Abdul praised Summer for her music accomplishments.  Summer appeared twice on “American Idol” in 2004 and 2008.

Born LaDonna Adrian Gaines (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012) and known by her stage name, Donna Sommer later Donna Summer was an American singer and songwriter who gained prominence during the disco era of the late 1970s. A five-time Grammy Award winner, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and died at her home in Naples, Florida.

She was posthumously described as the “undisputed Queen of the Seventies disco boom” who reached the status of “one of the world’s leading female singers”.  In 2013, Summer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
